Cheap Virgin America Flights (VX)

Overview

Virgin America is an airline which was founded in the United States of America early 2004 and first named as Virgin USA. The airline declares its aim to provide the customers with cheap tickets and affordable airfares on cheap flights on domestic and international routes.

A low-fare airline, Virgin America initially predicted that it would have approximately ten destinations within the first year of service and up to 30 after five years of service. Actually, the company started to operate on August 8, 2007, and currently Virgin America flies only to thirteen destinations in the United States and three in Mexico.

The company has a fleet of 52 airplanes, providing cheap flights to and from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cancun and other destinations in the United States and Mexico, for special lowest airfares.

Virgin America is actually a new company on the US market, but nevertheless, it already gains the public’s confidence not just offering cheap or low-cost tickets, but being responsible and furnishing a range of in flight services also.

On May 21, 2009, Virgin America became the first U.S. airline to offer Wi-Fi access via Gogo Inflight Internet on every flight.

Behind all special low airfares and low-budget tickets is standing a host of travel industry best-in-class awards as “Number One U.S. Airline in 2010” and “Best domestic Airline” by Condé Nast Traveler (for three consecutive years).

In 2006, Virgin America solicited the public’s help to name their aircraft, via a web contest. This is how the first aircraft was named Jefferson Airplane after the San Francisco band, and other two inaugural flights were named Air Colbert after the comedian Stephen Colbert, and California Dreaming as well. Recently, the airline renamed one of their airplanes in honor of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

From 2007, Virgin America reported a $270 million loss through the first two quarters of 2010, but in the third quarter of 2010 the airline reported its first quarterly profit of $7.5 million.

The company’s headquarter is Burlingame (California) and principal base of operations is San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

The “fresh” airline have expressed its willing to serve at the high level all its passengers by offering best prices, low-cost tickets since founded. The airline's stated aim is to provide low-fare, high-quality service for "long-haul point-to-point service between major metropolitan cities on the Eastern and West Coast seaboards”.
