TAM is a Brazilian airline company that, through its subsidiaries TAM Linhas Aereas and TAM Mercosur, provides air transportation services in both the domestic market and the international.

TAM serves 42 cities through its scheduled air passenger and cargo routes, in addition to other domestic destinations through the business partnerships. In the international market the company serves 17 destinations in the United States, Europe and South America: New York and Miami (USA), Paris (France), London (England), Milan (Italy), Frankfurt (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Buenos Aires and Bariloche (Argentina), Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), Santiago (Chile), Asuncion and Ciudad del Este (Paraguay), Montevideo (Uruguay), Caracas (Venezuela) and Lima (Peru). Additionally, it has code sharing agreements with international airline companies, allowing passengers to travel to another 64 destinations in the USA, South America and Europe. TAM was the first airline company to launch a loyalty program in Brazil, which currently has 5.2 million associates and has redeemed more than 6.4 million tickets in exchange for points.

TAM offers more convenience to its passengers in terms of frequency and direct flights between the main Brazilian airports, at competitive fares. TAM carried 24.1 million passengers in domestic flights and 3.7 million passengers in international flights in the year, totaling 27.8 million passengers carried.

TAM closed 2007 with a fleet of 115 leased aircraft, consisting mainly of Airbus models A340, A330, A321, A320 and A319, and Fokker-100 and Boeing MD-11 aircraft. TAM's headcount reached 20,469 people. Showing the expansion potential of the Brazilian airline industry, in the last five years, TAM posted growth significantly higher than the domestic market.
